ARCHIVES: BOUNDARIES
April 12, 2025 – May 10, 2025
The Hallway at the Warehouse on Garfield
Borders. Limits. Frontiers. Divisions. Lines. Between people. Across land. Real or imagined.
Boundaries shape how we navigate the world and our relationships with others. They define space, impose limits, and create structure; they also invite tension, resistance, and transformation.
This exhibition explores these thresholds, both physical and emotional, through works that call attention to the lines we cross, the places we move past, the spaces we share, and the moments where divisions blur. Some boundaries offer protection, while others confine. Some are drawn with intention, others are inherited.
In selecting these works, I was drawn to pieces that embody this tension, works that make us question where separation exists and where connection prevails. Through form, color, and subject, each piece contributes to a broader conversation about the ways we define, enforce, and dissolve our own edges.
But boundaries are more than personal. They are political, cultural, and territorial. They carve nations and identities, dictate belonging and exclusion, shape histories and futures. In a world that constantly asks us to articulate and defend our place within these structures, this exhibition asks: what happens when we reconsider them?
